The National Artificial Intelligence Security Council (NAISC) has officially launched as a New York-incorporated nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing AI security standards across the United States.
Founded by Alexander Harris, NAISC addresses a critical gap in the American AI ecosystem: the absence of a unified, independent, practitioner-driven organization focused on AI security standards, certification, and policy advocacy.
"As AI systems become deeply embedded in critical infrastructure, healthcare, finance, and national defense, the need for comprehensive security standards has never been more urgent," said Alexander Harris, Chairman and President of NAISC. "We are building the authoritative voice for AI security in America."
NAISC's four core pillars include: the NAISC Standards Framework (NSF), covering 10 critical domains of AI security; professional certification programs including the Certified AI Security Professional (CASP); a national membership community; and active policy advocacy on Capitol Hill.
The organization is currently accepting founding memberships, recruiting advisory board members from federal agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and leading academic institutions, and developing NSF v0.1 — the foundational version of its AI security standards framework.
